A sampling of websites

Sportsman Magnets and More. Shopping cart website where retail and wholesale can buy product online. Built with zen cart. Flash rotating bumper magnet display.

Wellspring Financial Advisors. This site implements Flash technology and warm colors to welcome existing clients to the site.

House Portraits by Pete. This is a simple site with clean lines and few colors to show off Pete's watercolor house portraits and other art. Quotes from Pete:

"I think it's close to perfect. I'm really impressed."

"Thanks for the good work. I love it... It's simple, readable and represents me well."

China Partners. China Partners needed help with a menu and design, but wanted to do all the updating themselves. We hooked them up with Macromedia Contribute and a Blog that they can edit from any internet-connected computer. Quotes from China Partners:

"I'm glad you enjoyed working on the site - I have enjoyed working with you! You provided just what we needed, and that feels great."

Buena Vista Rentals. This site advertises several rentals in the Buena Vista area of Winston-Salem. We are waiting for more photos and are intending to have a slideshow for each rental.

Alaska State Dental Hygienists' Association. The ASDHA president approached me for a site redesign. She wanted a fun site that would attract and benefit members, with pieces that officers and members could update themselves. We created a sort of "tooth mascot" to distinguish between pages, put up a bulletin board, and added two databases to capture job postings and what they call a "fill in list". Some pages are password protected for only members to see. Quotes from ASDHA:

"Thanks for your work on the design. It is looking very good and things are working much better."

"The web site looks so excellent!!!! I can't tell you how happy I am with it!!!! Thanks soooo much."

" Hey Kc!!! I've gotten tons of compliments on the site!!!"

Coming Home Counseling. This is a small site for a Christian counselor in Anchorage. Coming to a counselor can be an intimidating experience. Counselors are usually recommended by word-of-mouth, so the intent of this site is to help a potential counselee that has heard of Dr. Brock get to know him. Then making the call for that first appointment isn't so "cold".

Coffman Morris Landscape Design.
Coffman Morris Landscape Design needed a sleek site to show off their artistry. A potential client can see sample design plans (scanned in to show that they are hand watercolored) and an assortment of photos of their work.

Northern Trust Real Estate
. This was a request for site design concept only.

R-Valued Homes. R-Valued Homes had bought a domain name, but did not have a site yet. They needed a logo and a professional looking site with local Alaska Valley flair. Client comments: "awesome" & "Thanks again...... we are loving it!"

Sites no longer in use:

Summit Mortgage Alaska. Summit already had a website which was very informative, but stiff. They wanted to lighten up a little and incorporate a moose they had been using on an ad. We used the moose and altered him for each page. Here is their site redesign.

Pat Baker - Real Estate Agent. Pat Baker needed a website to advertise the many listings she had. I worked with her office manager closely as we co-designed the site. Red is often discouraged as a background in design, but here it works well and is perfect for a flashy, professional looking site. This site design won “Best all around website” from the Anchorage Home Builders Association in 2002.

Chris Wilson - Real Estate Agent. Chris moved to Anchorage to work with her sister Pat. She needed a site that introduced her and appealed to people interested in moving to Alaska. She wanted a creative, Alaskan look with resources for 'outsiders'.

Discovery Construction. Discovery needed a site redesign because they had lost the employee that first built it and maintained it. The information was out of date and they wanted a more organized format. We spruced up the design, added organization, an interactive Anchorage map, and more complete information on floorplans and options.

Baylor ITS Training. Baylor needed a more appealing and interactive page for their training and seminar page. A switching quote of the day was added to the front page, fun keyboard buttons, and online quizzes to see what classes the viewer might need to take.

Good News 4 Asia. This was a website for a ministry to tell people about what they were doing in Asia and as a recruiting tool for English teachers. This was another small website with photos and a custom front page graphic.
